Project Timeline and Updates

First and foremost, Help the Children Hear Inc. would like to personally thank everyone for the great enthusiasm and support provided to make this dream come true for hundreds of children. Your hard work, donations, and love are greatly appreciated.

May 2004
Amanda Abbiate is asked to be the guest speaker for Lenape Valley High School Interact Club's officer initiation/awards ceremony -- one of northern New Jersey's largest interact clubs. Various rotarians and youth exchange students attended to show support to this great interact club and all of it's members' outstanding achievements.

January 2004
Amanda Abbiate delivered approximately 250 hearing aids to Argentina. 150 of these were delivered to Presidente Erika Ilardo of the Rotary Club of Las Heras-Aconcagua. The Rotary Club of Tucuman Sur had collected over 50 additional hearing devices to add to the growing bank at Starkey Labratories. Both Argentinian Clubs accepted the devices with great appreciation at meetings attended by district governors and clubs.

Summer, 2003
Lilia Muntaner, Danielle and Nicole Abbiate all helped hand deliver 300 multi-frequency hearing aids to children in Mendoza and Tucumán Argentina.

District 7470 Year-end Assembly presentation given by David Gurian with special guest Lilia Muntaner from Tucumán, Argentina.

March 22, 2003
Kathy delivered a presentation to the President Elects at PETS to provide basic and further information on the growth of the project.

January/February 2003
The next Help the Children Hear planning meeting held.

December 16, 2002
Kathy and Amanda Abbiate will visit the Mt. Olive Rotary club and presenting information about the project

November 26, 2002
The committee members of Help the Children Hear Inc. held their semi-annual meeting in Northern New Jersey. They discussed and voted on letterhead and logos for stationary and went over Treasurer's information.

November 2002
The members of SIFE, a student organization at West Virginia Wesleyan College, held a hearing aid collection in front of the local Wal-Mart. The store pledged to match whatever monetary donations the group collected. A total of $180 has been donated to Help the Children Hear Inc. as a result of their efforts.

August 1-8, 2002
Kathy and Amanda Abbiate delivered another shipment of 150 hearing aids to Hospital del Nino Jesus in Tucuman, Argentina. During their visit, members of Rotary District 4800 gathered to celebrate and congratulate the project's success.
